The answers to these frequently asked questions are for your convenience only and are not intended as a substitute for the terms of the lease agreement.
1) How much cash do I need to get started?
Our lease requires a minimum security deposit of $4,500 for a Beta II and $9,500 for a Raven. The actual security deposit amount will be determined after submission of Lessee's lease application and is determined by Lessee's credit history and the intended location and use of the Helicopter.*
2) How quickly can I get my helicopter?
If we have a helicopter in inventory it can be ready for pickup in as little as one week after you sign the lease and pay the start up costs. If we don’t have one in inventory, we can usually get a new or used aircraft on the open market in 2-4 weeks.
3) Do you require a minimum number of hours per month?
The Monthly Lease Option does not have a minimum usage requirement. The Hourly Lease Option has a standard monthly minimum usage requirement of 30 hours for an R22 and 20 hours for an R44. In some cases, this minimum may be waived for established flight schools and commercial operators with a proven history of generating flight hours. The minimum requirements for all Lessees are determined on a case by case basis.
4) How does the warranty work?
Robinson and Lycoming offer limited warranties on new aircraft for 24 months (24 months or 1,000 hours in the case of Robinson) and warranties of 12 months for overhauled aircraft. Proceeds from these warranties are available to the Lessee to cover applicable repairs and replacements.
5) Who pays for Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives?
We pay for the parts necessary to comply with ADs and the operator pays for the labor to comply with ADs and parts and labor to comply with SBs.
6) What costs do I pay for?
The operator pays for fuel, maintenance, hangar, insurance and any costs of operation other than the overhaul reserve and the cost of parts to satisfy an AD.
7) What do you pay for?
We pay for property tax and overhaul reserves as well as the parts necessary to comply with ADs.
8) Where is the aircraft located and who pays for ferry time?
New Robinson helicopters will be available for pick up in Bend, Oregon. The pick up location for used helicopters will be determined at the time. You will be responsible for all ferry costs and flight time from the pickup location to your location at the applicable hourly rate.
9) What happens at the end of the lease?
You return the helicopter to our location in Redmond, Oregon at your cost.
10) What kind of flight schools are you leasing to?
We’re leasing to flight schools that will maintain the helicopter to a high standard of airworthiness and who consider safety as their first priority.
11) What happens if the aircraft is damaged?
We can decide to either repair or replace the helicopter or terminate the lease. You are responsible for the replacement of the helicopter through your insurance coverage.
12) Who pays the deductible portion of an insurance claim?
The operator is responsible to pay the deductible portion of any insurance claim.
13) Am I personally responsible for the lease payments and damages to the helicopter?
Yes you are. The lease will be based on your credit history and you will be responsible for damage and to make payments.
